Dr. Yousef Hamed Al Balushi
Chief economist of the Oman Vision 2040 Taskforce and senior official at the Central Bank of Oman, Dr. Al Balushi has served as an advisor on foreign direct investment (FDI) to both Oman’s Supreme Council for Planning and the International Monetary Fund.
Awarded a PhD from the University of London’s King’s College, his thesis explored the impact of FDI on the contribution of the private sector to Oman’s economic development. Widely published on regional economic and business issues, a regular contributor to leading policy forums and a popular lecturer on master’s degree programmes at King’s College as well as GUTech Oman, Dr. Al Balushi is passionate about Oman’s development and investment potential. Indeed, he is committed to leveraging his substantial and significant experience to support the Sultanate’s long-term growth and prosperity.

Possesses significant leadership and managerial experience in business , mainly in Oil & gas and plastic & composite industries, Familiar with most aspects of the global energy industry (oil & Gas E&P, downstream, petrochemical, power generation). Strong business background and qualifications with effective leadership skills. Has an extensive business network in the MENA region and other international locations.
Accountable for managing profitability, while simultaneously increasing brand recognition through efficient operations.

– Operations, and business consulting executive with more than 20 Years’ experience.
– Business expertise engagement in a variety of industries, mainly Oil & Gas, plastic and composite.
– Expert in oil and gas drilling rigs operations
– Diverse, comprehensive operational background, including engineering. Manufacturing, supply chain/ sourcing, logistic, strategic planning, and marketing.
– Multinational experience with an extensive knowledge in Human resources and organizational culture.
– Deep understanding of Industrial and manufacturing paradigm shift and evolution, as I worked more than 2 years with Joel A. Barker, one of the top 5 futurist in the world.
– Holds a Master of Science degree in Leadership & management and a bachelor’s degree in Oil & gas engineering.
