Dr Yousuf is a leading economist in Oman. He has over 25 years of professional experience at the Central Bank of Oman and at the Supreme Council for Planning, and he was appointed as an advisor on Foreign Direct Investment working in the International Monetary Fund and as an Advisor for Oman to IFC.
Yousuf obtained his PhD in Economics from King’s College London (University of London). In his thesis he examined the impact of FDI on the efficiency of the private sector and economic development in Oman. In addition to FDI, his interests cover monetary and fiscal policies, foreign trade, and private sector development.
As Chief Economist for the Oman Vision 2040 taskforce, this appointment saw him leading teams throughout the country to examine sector-wide business opportunities to develop a macroeconomic framework and public-private partnerships development plan.
He is an established contributor to various business and policy forums and has published business and economic issues.
An expert strategist in the field of business and geo-economic affairs, with a track record of guiding institutions towards unprecedented success in foreign direct investment and international economics.
He is a graduate in International Business from Hanze University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands, with a rich background in business analysis, geo-economic dynamics, and international market dynamics.
With accumulated expertise across diverse industries, coupled with a close understanding of global energy dynamics and enhancing communications and value propositions driving opportunities for clients. He is Committed to profitability alignment while elevating brand vision through streamlined operations. He possesses various accredited certifications.
Educational background: A degree in Logistics Engineering and supply chain planning & engineering from Fontys university of applied sciences with extensive international experience.
Successfully led five projects focused on process optimization and Lean Six Sigma methodologies, earning an Orange Belt certification. With experience with large logistics companies like ASYAD, DHL and DSV providing them deep understanding of supply chain dynamics and the ability to implement effective solutions in high-pressure environments.
Areas of expertise Leading project in all levels starting from the operational level to create the lean working environment moving on to the integral level to enhance homogeneity between different business units to the supply chain level to streamline the three flows (goods / info / money) between supply chain players.

Business Analyst
At SIG, I primarily work with Microsoft Excel to create detailed graphs, perform data analysis using advanced formulas, and support reporting processes. I also conduct research on economic macro and micro trends, summarize key insights into reports, and prepare presentations for internal and external use. In addition, I handle invoicing, take minutes during stakeholder meetings, and collaborate with the social media team to align communication efforts with the organization's goals.

I excel in developing and designing comprehensive Excel dashboards plus able to optimize SQL queries, creating interactive Power BI dashboards, reports, and, reports.
